Your fireplace

The fireplace video, generated sound and clock run on your device. No account is required. The app contains no advertising, tracking or third-party analytics SDKs. Joypad Labs does not operate an app-data server.

Optional weather and location

Weather starts only after you choose a city or request your location. Location permission is optional and requested only while using the app. We request approximate accuracy and round coordinates to two decimal places before storing them or sending them to Apple WeatherKit for current conditions and forecasts. Apple’s location services may also receive these coordinates to determine the local time zone. Apple processes service requests under its own privacy policies. The Apple Weather attribution image is included in the app so it remains available offline. You can use a city instead of device location, or leave weather unconfigured.

What stays on your device

The app stores your display and sound preferences, chosen city or rounded coordinates, cached weather and forecast, and request timestamps locally. Weather is normally refreshed no more often than every six hours while open, subject to request limits. Saved weather is available for up to 24 hours after its last successful update. Older cached weather is removed when the app next checks it. The update time is displayed. App data may be included in backups managed by your device settings.

Your choices and deletion

Use Clear saved weather & location in Weather & location to remove the selected coordinates and cached weather and stop further weather requests until you make a new choice. Request timestamps are stored on your device to enforce refresh limits. Only timestamps from the previous 24 hours count toward those limits; older timestamps are removed when another weather request is recorded. These timestamps contain no location. You can also revoke location permission in system Settings. Deleting the app removes its local app data; manage any device backups separately. No location history is maintained.

This website

joypadlabs.com is hosted by Vercel. When you visit, Vercel receives technical request information, such as your IP address, browser information and requested page, to deliver and secure the site. We have not enabled website analytics or advertising trackers, and this site does not set cookies. See Vercel’s Privacy Policy for its data handling practices.

Contacting us

For support or privacy requests, email joypadlabs@protonmail.com. If you email us, your email address, message and any attachments are processed by our email provider, Proton Mail, so we can respond. Please avoid sending sensitive information. Correspondence is retained while needed to handle the enquiry and any applicable recordkeeping obligations; you can request deletion by email.

Changes

We will update this policy when the app’s data practices change. The effective date identifies this version.
